The Council is currently preparing a new Local Development Framework which will eventually replace the adopted Local Plan. In addition Regional and National planning policy guidance has been updated over the past few years. As such some of the policies in the adopted Local Plan are becoming outdated.
The Council has, therefore, agreed with Government Office a list of policies from the adopted Local Plan that are still valid and should be saved beyond September 2007. A list of the saved policies, along with the letter from Government Office directing these policies to be saved, has been attached. This list should be read in conjunction with the adopted Local Plan and only those policies outlined on the list should be used for planning guidance purposes.

The adopted local plan was formally adopted in July 1999 and is available online via the Planning Portal and policies are available by chapter in the form of a Word document.
