Craven District Council is pleased to announce that Brian Dinsdale has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive.
Mr Dinsdale, who will take up the reigns at the Council on Tuesday 15 July, has over 16 years of experience as Chief Executive gained in unitary local authorities including Hartlepool District Council and Middlesborough Council.
On his successful appointment at Craven District Council, Brian said: “I’m looking forward to working with councillors, officers and the new political administration to build on the Council’s achievements. I’m excited to be involved in projects such as delivering more affordable homes across the District, the £70 million investment that Skipton Developments will make to the area and delivering a new bus station for Skipton and the District.”
Cllr Knowles-Fitton, Leader of Craven District Council, said: “Brian has an excellent track record in a variety of local authorities. His experience will allow the Council to continue its aim to provide excellent local services that really work for everyone. By working together, I’m sure we can make great strides in delivering the best for Cravens’ residents.”
Since leaving Middlesborough Council Brian has pursued an active career as a consultant and an interim manager. In 2005 Brian became Interim Director of Resources for North West Leicestershire Council and in early 2006 became Interim Chief Executive for Scarborough Borough Council. Brian is currently working as Programme Director managing the transition of 8 Durham Councils to a new unitary council to be formed in April 2009.
In 2002 Brian led the team in Hartlepool Council that achieved an “excellent” Council Performance Assessment rating, with one of the highest aggregate scores in the UK. His last Authority, Middlesbrough Council, obtained “excellent” status as he retired from service. Both are now four-star “improving well” councils.
