Alicia Jerger’s, recycling poster has been chosen as the winning design in a poster competition run by Craven District Council.
Alicia who is a pupil at Water Street Primary School, Skipton took part in the competition to design a poster with the theme ‘Recycle for Craven’. Her design will now appear as a giant poster on the side of one of the Council’s refuse collection vehicles.
Craven District Councillor Paul Whitaker, Lead Member for the Environment who judged the competition commented “We had a fantastic response to the competition with over 200 entries. I particularly liked Alicia’s design because it was simple, yet effective at getting the recycling message across. “
The competition coincides with the kerbside recycling expansion and move to alternate weekly collection which is currently being rolled out across the district.
