What action are we taking?
The Corporate Plan 2008 - 2011 identifies the Council's key goals. Areas for action focus on:
- Increasing recycling and reducing waste
- Responding to climate change
- Keeping Craven clean and green
We are working with North Yorkshire County Council and other local authorities throughout North Yorkshire to reduce the amount of waste produced and promote recycling, composting and waste minimisation.
We will work in partnership to develop and implement strategies to enable the District to respond to the important climate change agenda, and implement a number of intiatives to reduce the Council's carbon footprint and CO2 emissions from Council owned property.
We are continuing with our efforts to keep the Craven District clean and green, implementing a range of initiatives to improve cleanliness and reduce litter across the District under the 'Keep Craven Clean Initiative.'
We will implement improvement plans at Aireville Park in Skipton, improve how we deliver services fo the maintenance of Council owned land and continue with our efforts to ensure that private water supplies across the District meet required standards.
