Craven has joined the North Yorkshire Choice Based Lettings (CBL) Partnership which includes 7 out of the 8 local authorities in North Yorkshire.
The membership consists of: City of York, Craven District Council, Hambleton District Council, Richmondshire District Council, Ryedale District Council, Scarborough Borough Council and Selby District Council, plus their partner Housing Associations:Broadacres, Yorkshire Coast Homes and Yorkshire Housing.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO DESIGN A NEW LETTINGS SCHEME FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Consultation took place during August and October on the development of a single lettings scheme for council and housing association housing.
The new lettings scheme will replace the existing lettings schemes of the authorities in the North Yorkshire Choice Based Lettings Partnership.
The proposed new lettings scheme will be based on customer choice. This means that all available properties from a variety of landlords will be advertised and applicants will be able to request which properties they wish to be considered for. In time, this process of advertising will include a whole range of other housing related services.
All members of the public were welcome to take part in the consultation and further details can be found by visiting the Consultation Webpage hosted by City of York for information including an easy to read Guide to the proposed new lettings scheme. A supporting questionnaire was also available for completion and could be returned on-line.

Consultation events were also arranged for members of the public throughout the Partnership area. Craven's events were:
Skipton Town Hall
14th - 18th September, running as a display for that week, with staff on hand to take questions between 2 and 5pm
Grassington Devonshire Institute (Town Hall)
Thursday 10th September, 3-8pm
Glusburn Institute
Thursday 22nd October , 3-8pm

The consultation period ceased in October and all feedback is currently being considered and analysed. Once this has been concluded the lettings policy will be revised in light of the consultation feedback and the North Yorkshire Choice Based Lettings Partnership Board will subsequently approve the final policy to be put forward to partner organisations for their final approval.
