AQUA BABES
An ideal opportunity for parent and baby to develop water confidence in a fun, enjoyable and relaxing environment.
AQUA TOTS
For children aged 2 and upwards. A safe environment for parent and child. An ideal introduction to swimming and a way of developing their own independence, leading through to the swim school.
SWIMMING LESSONS
For children aged 4 and upwards. Encouraging children to gain water confidence, techniques and a wide range of skills, rewarding achievement and success. The scheme follows the Amateur Swimming Associations National Plan for Teaching Swimming, a recognisable National Standard. Starting at Stage 1 for non-swimmers to Stage 10 advanced swimmers travelling through the scheme through continuous development. Also incorporated into the Swim School are the Rainbow distance awards and the Swimming Challenge awards.
ADULT LESSONS
Adult lessons, one way to improve your technique or overcome your fears enabling you to develop your confidence.
ROOKIES
Rookie Lifesaving a basic introduction to Water Safety Skills covering techniques of life support, such as CPR and First Aid. A fun environment to develop the skills already gained through the swim school. Rookies is open to anyone who can easily swim 100m.
NPLQ
Want to be a lifeguard? Approved Training Centre offers NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification 7th Edition) courses during school holidays.
AQUAEROBICS
An exercise workout in the water to music a fun and extensive workout without high impact stresses. Ideal for swimmers and non-swimmers.
The aim of Skipton Swimming Club is to provide a friendly and safe environment for it’s members to practice and compete in swimming.
The club is affiliated to the Amateur Swimming Association and a number of district associations and leagues to support competitive swimmers up to the National Level.
The club runs the Amateur Swimming Associations National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) from Stage 8 and is aiming for skill development in the ASA's Swim 21 Scheme.
Skipton Swimming Club welcomes swimmers who have attained certain swimming skills. Any interested swimmers will be invited to a trial swim so that they can be assessed by one of the club's swimming teachers or coaches (by appointment).
The club meets at the following times:
- Monday 7.30pm to 9.00pm
- Wednesday 6.00pm to 8.00pm
- Thursday 7.00pm to 8.30pm
- Saturday 4.00pm to 5.45pm
Extra 8 hours coaching times available for selected swimmers.
