Swim School

Craven Swim School is the swimming scheme operated by Craven District Council.

Through the scheme we offer a high standard of teaching throughout all age groups and abilities. The swim school is designed to encourage children of all ages from non-swimmers to advanced pre-competition. The lessons take place in a warm environment with the emphasis of fun as well as skill.

Lessons are also provided for adults from beginners, helping to build confidence within the water to improvers who just need a little extra help with their technique.

The swim school is based on the Amateur Swimming Association's National Plan for Teaching Swimming which is the nationally recognised scheme for teaching swimming. The emphasis is on the teaching the quality of the swimming strokes and not distance.
