Advice for Event Organisers who wish to hold an event on Craven District Council land

Event organisers, including funfair or circus proprietors (and similar), wishing to hold events on land owned by Craven District Council should initially contact the Council department who manage the area of land.

Following this initial contact, and agreement in principle for the event to be hosted, the event organiser should refer to the Event Safety Guide and it’s supporting documents.

When all the necessary documentation is completed to the satisfaction of the responsible Council Officer, and a rental fee (if applicable) has been agreed, confirmation of the booking will be sent to the event organiser.

The event organiser has a duty to abide by conditions set out in the Event Safety Guide and it’s supporting documents, as well as any applicable byelaws or special conditions which relate to the site.

Available documents to download are:-

  1. Event Safety Guide
  2. Event application form
  3. Event participation list
  4. Event risk assessment guidance note
  5. Event safety inspection checklist
  6. Food Safety Guide
