This exciting initiative was launched in December 2004 when 3 roundabouts in the Craven district were sponsored following substantial refurbishment.
The Gargrave, Grassington and Skibeden roundabouts, all situated on the A59, have undergone a dramatic makeover to produce a areas designed in harmony with the surrounding countryside. The Grassington and Skibeden planting schemes are made up of herbaceous and perennial plants, whereas the Gargrave site provides a mass of spring colour from a variety of bulbs.
Since the launch a number of additional sites have been improved and sponsored.
The current sponsorship agreements are in place for 3 years. The annual fee payable by the sponsor incorporates the initial planting, all costs, signs, and maintenance.
