This page may assist you if you wish to carry out any works to trees.

Before you fell or trim a tree contact the Council to check if it is protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or if it is within a Conservation Area.

  1. To check if your tree(s) are protected by a TPO  or are within a Conservation Area please telephone 01756 706447 or check the proposals map at the Planning Portal web site.

     

  2. If the tree(s) are protected you will have to apply to the Council for consent to undertake work on the tree(s). Using This Application Form  

     

  3. When we receive your application the Parish or Town Council are notified and one of our Tree Officers will visit the site. 

     

  4. You may wish to check on the progress of your, or any other application - to do this online press HERE

     

  5. If we do not receive any objections the application will be dealt with under the Scheme of Delegation.

     

  6. If we do receive objections the application will be determined at Planning Sub Committee

     

  7. A decision will be issued within six weeks.
