On 6th April 2008 a new national set of planning application forms was introduced. These are available to fill in on-line via the Planning Portal or to download in hard copy from this webpage.

You may also collect a paper copy from the Granville Street Offices in Skipton.

The Standard Planning Application Forms (1APP) will replace all existing types of planning application forms (except minerals) within England.

You will not be able to submit a planning application on any other form after 5th April.

Whilst there is a form for each type of application, you will also be able to combine applications on one form, for example, a householder application with a listed building consent.

To assist you in filling out all the application forms the downloads come attached with guidance notes, in addition to validation requirements. We strongly reccomend you apply on line at the Planning Portal, where you can use walkthrough on how to complete the application forms.

Your fee should be included with your submission, the correct fee may be calculated using the Online Fee Calculator at the Planning Portal Web Site or using our Schedule Of Fees


You are required to supply Site Location Plans, with your submission. These are Ordnance Survey Maps and may be obtained from www.centremapslive.co.uk

If you are required to supply 'Notice' regarding your proposal, you may wish to use this form
or contact our technical team for further assistance.

Once your application has arrived at our offices we carry out a Validation Check before it is processed. The government has changed the validation requirements for planning applications. This is an important change. Each type of application has a list of information that will be required to make the application valid and able to be registered by the planning authority. These 'national requirements' will be the same across the country and are mandatory.In addition, we as a  local planning authority have a list of 'local requirements' which are also mandatory as they have been approved by the Council.

If your applications fails to meet certain requirements it will be returned to you stating the reasons why. This obviously delays the proposal. An internal Validation Checklist is available for you to consult prior to submitting your application.
