Annual Monitoring Reports are prepared annually and submitted to the Secretary of State in December each year. They report on the previous financial year (1st April to the 31st March).
The purpose of the Annual Monitoring Reports is to review the progress of the Local Development Framework compared with targets and milestones that are set out in the Local Development Scheme. Monitoring also allows the Council to assess whether or not a document and/or policy is achieving its intended outcome, and if not, the reason for this. They also set out the framework for future monitoring.
To date five Annual Monitoring Reports have been submitted, and are available to view via the following links:
Annual Monitoring Reports are also prepared at the Regional Level by the Yorkshire and Humber Assembly, to report on progress against the outcomes and policies set out in the Regional Spatial Strategy. Local authorities provide the Regional Assembly with data for their area, which is then compiled to give a picture for the whole region. This is useful as it shows how Craven's performance compares to other authorities within North Yorkshire and the whole Yorkshire and Humber Region.
The Regional Spatial Strategy Annual Monitoring Report for 2007-2008 was published in March 2009. A summary of the document has been produced which focusses on Craven's position in the Region. To download the summary please click here.
