Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assesment
Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment, 2008

This draft Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA) consists of a list of sites that have been identified for future potential housing and employment development.

The sites have been identified from those put forward by the public during the Site Allocations Development Plan Document “Call for Sites”; sites with planning permission; and sites identified in other studies.  All sites have been assessed according to their suitability for possible future development to the year 2026 and provide a basis from which further investigation can take place prior to allocation in the Site Allocations Development Plan Document.

It is important to note that this study will not allocate sites for development as that will be done through the Site Allocations DPD.

THE STRATEGIC HOUSING AND EMPLOYMENT LAND AVAILABILITY ASSESSMENT WILL UNDERGO PUBLIC CONSULTATION FROM 29TH AUGUST TO THE 10TH OCTOBER 2008.

Once finalised, the draft SHELAA  will be used to inform new planning policy set out in the emerging Core Strategy and Site Allocations Development Plan Documents.

We need your help at this stage to tell us what you think about the draft SHELAA, provide any relevant additional information and to suggest ways in which the content can be improved.  As this draft assessment forms a key piece of evidence to be used in the formulation of future planning policy, now is the time to have your say.
