The Affordable Housing Guide has been produced to clarify what is required by national and regional planning policy, and to set out the Council's preferred approach to the provision of affordable housing.
The Guide is not new policy, but is a guide to existing policies. It is based on the Government's Planning Policy Statement 3: Housing, regional policies in the Yorkshire and Humber Plan (Regional Spatial Strategy) and local evidence from the Craven 2005 Housing Needs Assessment.
The Affordable Housing Guide should be used by anyone who wants to submit a planning application or to submit comments about an application.
