The Statement of Community Involvement, or SCI, sets out Craven District Council’s policy for community involvement and consultation in the preparation and review of Local Development Documents.  It also contains guidance on consultation procedures for planning applications. 

The aim of the SCI is to ensure all sections of the public, including local groups and organisations, are actively involved throughout the process of preparing LDDs and determining planning applications. 

The SCI is one of the initial LDF documents to be prepared.  In November 2005 the SCI was submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination.  Following the examination and receipt of the Inspectors Report in April 2006, the Council’s SCI was formally adopted on the 28th June 2006.
