Craven Crime Reduction Partnership has funding available to support projects which will enable the Partnership to achieve their Strategic Objectives.

The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 introduced a new framework for tackling local crime and disorder problems.  This placed an increased emphasis on listening to the views of local communities to find out their day-to-day concerns about crime and disorder.

Consultation and an audit process identified issues that need to be addressed.  The key issues identified were as follows:

  • Road safety and traffic problems
  • Burglary
  • Criminal damage
  • Vehicle crime
  • Young people
  • Vulnerable groups (domestic violence and racial incidents)
  • Drug, alcohol and substance misuse
  • Fear of crime

The Craven Crime Reduction Strategy identified actions to tackle these issues.  The strategy document can be downloaded from this website.

The Craven Crime Reduction Partnership offers funding from the Safer and Stronger Communities Fund (SSCF) to groups and organisations in Craven who wish to undertake projects which will tackle one or more of the key issues identified in the Craven Crime Reduction Strategy.

Examples of previous projects undertaken by recipients of this funding include Crucial Crew education days for young people informing them of the consequences of crime, provision of a number of services to Craven Domestic Abuse Service and a variety of measures to reduce serious injury and fatal road traffic accidents.  Other projects have involved providing facilities for youths in Skipton and Crosshills, and funding drugs education for school children.

If you wish to apply for funding please complete the application form, which can be downloaded from this website.
