Neighbourhood Watch

Neighbourhood Watch is the largest voluntary organisation in the UK and there are a number of benefits of being a member of a scheme.

Neighbourhood Watch is the best known and most effective example of the police and community working in partnership to prevent crime, build safer communities and improve quality of life.

The benefits of belonging to a scheme are as follows:

1. Working together as a group helps to make your community a safer and friendlier place to live

2. As a group you have a stronger voice

3. Tackling specific local problems is easier in a group

4. A group can identifiy and support the more vulnerable members of their community together

5. Pooling of local knowledge to improve community safety benefits everyone.

The National Neighbourhood Watch Association (NNWA) is the national charity that supports, represents and promotes Neighbourhood Watch.  If you do not have a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in your area contact your local police station to help you set one up.

For information about Neighbourhood Watch contact the NNWA Head Office on 01707 638814 or e-mail info@neighbourhoodwatch.net.
