Craven
Museum
has a fascinating and varied archaeology collection which helps to tell the story of the changing landscape of the local area. Some of the highlights on display include a prehistoric bear skull, an iron age sword and scabbard, Roman glassware, and a hoard of silver Medieval coins.
Thanks to a Renaissance Yorkshire funded project in July 2009, the museum also has a half-scale reconstruction of a Roman underfloor central heating system called a hypocaust.
