The Darwin Project



Three professional local contemporary artists – Joan Newall, Tony Stephenson and Helen Peyton – were commissioned by Craven Museum & Gallery with financial support from Arts Council England, Yorkshire, to produce a new piece of work in response to the museum’s fossil collection. Each artist also ran workshop in Settle, Bentham and Skipton. Work from the workshops, together with the commissioned pieces are on show in the museum until 22 December. Admission free.

Out of the Box 

From October to December this year you may come across one of our three artists in residence – painting, drawing or using our Britannia printing press. Inspired by our collections, their work will culminate in an exhibition entitled Out of the Box from 19 January to 2 May 2011.
