The Council's Organisational Assessment

The Council has received its first results under CAA in December 2009. This assessed performance during the 2008/2009 financial year.

The assessment judged the Council at a score of 1 out of 4 - 'An organisation that does not meet minimum requirements - Performs Poorly.'

For Managing Performance it scored:

2 out of 4
-  'An organisation that meets only minimum requirements - Performs Adequately,'

For Use of Resources it scored:

1 out of 4 - 'An organisation that does not meet minimum requirements- Performs Poorly.'

Despite the overall poor score, the Council is very encouraged by the Audit Commission's clear recognition that the council is continuing to make significant improvements in its performance and has an optimistic approach to future assessments.

The Council's Organisational Assessment report can be downloaded from this web page.

The full Use of Resources report can be found via the following link Use of Resources

Improving against the Organisational Assessment

The Council is committed to ensuring that it continues to improve against its Organisational Assessment and it has put in place an improvement plan to improve on its Organisational Assessment in the future.

The next assessment will be undertaken during Spring/Summer 2010 and reported in December 2010.  It will be based primarily on the 2009/2010 financial year.
