Craven welcomed the Olympic Torch

We welcomed the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay on Sunday 24th June 2012. Estimates of up to 20,000 people watched the Torch travel through Skipton.

On the same day, we held a Festival of Sport and Culture on Skipton High Street which celebrated the Torch travelling through and showcased the local sporting and cultural activities that take place throughout the district. Over 50 local clubs took part in the Festival by either holding an activity or performing on one of the three staged areas.
