    Craven District Council awards grants of between £100 and £1000 to local community groups for projects which benefit the local community.

    The detrimental effects of an inactive lifestyle are increasingly apparent and it is widely recognised that inactivity can elevate the risk of developing a wide range of health problems, such as; type 2 diabetes, CHD (Coronary Heart Disease), hypertension, cancer, stroke, obesity, and osteoporosis (Department of Health, 2000).

      Small Societies wishing to promote lotteries e.g. raffles, tombolas and prize draws must register with Craven District Council as a small society lottery.
