Previous Work on the Local Development Plan

The Council has been working on the new Local Development Plan since 2005 and during this time a number of draft documents have been produced and consulted on. This page contains details of this previous work, for example, the Core Strategy Issues and Options and Preferred Option drafts.

Before the Localism Act was published, the Council had to write their policies in separate documents, each dealing with different issues. Collectively these documents would have formed the Local Development Framework. The Council's previous work was focussed on the Core Strategy, which would have been the main policy document. The Core Strategy would have contained a vision of how the District should look at the end of the plan period, and a series of objectives and policies for achieving this vision. The previous work on the Core Strategy will now be included in the Local Development Plan.

Please follow the links below to view drafts of the Core Strategy and for further information on previous public consultation events.
