The purpose of publishing Craven District Council's spending data is to enable greater transparency, greater engagement and greater efficiency by allowing inspection by residents, and re-use of the data in innovative applications, mashups, visualisations and analysis.

This information is published under the new Open Government Licence, which allows anyone - businesses, individuals, charities and community groups - to re-use public sector information without having to pay or get permission.
