Community groups in Craven are invited to bid for funding at a Dragon's Den style event which will be held on the 5 March 2012 at the Council Offices, Skipton.
The event run by Craven District Council will mirror the BBC 2 'smash hit' show. Five 'dragons' will be giving out £2000 of funding to local projects which will benefit young people and improve the local community.
Funding to support the project has been awarded by Craven District Council (£750), Yorkshire Housing (£250), Craven Community Safety Partnership (£500) and North Yorkshire County Council (£500). The projects should either; improve the local community, tackle anti-social behaviour and crime or encourage young people to take a positive role in their community.
Successful applicants will be invited to pitch their ideas for projects to the Dragons on the 5th March 2012. The 'Dragons' include Councillor John Roberts and Councillor Linda Brockbank from Craven District Council, Councillor Shelagh Marshall from Craven Community Safety Partnership, two representatives from Craven Youth Council and Sue Duncan from Yorkshire Housing.
