Community Engagement Strategy and Toolkit

Craven District Council has produced a Community Engagement Strategy and Toolkit. The strategy is for Craven District Council employees and members. The toolkit is for the use of employees, members and partner organisations.

Community Engagement Strategy

The pdf icon CDC Community Engagement Strategy 2009 - 2013 [86kb] explains Craven District Council's corporate approach to community engagement. The document sets out the principles and standard that we have adopted to engage with communities in Craven. This document is in the process of being merged with the communications strategy and will be published here when complete.

The word icon Community Engagement Toolkit [1Mb] gives advice and guidance on how to engage with specific groups and techniques and methods you could use to engage with these groups. The Toolkit also outlines the CDC procedures regarding community engagement and has a number of useful forms to help you with this.

How to use the Community Engagement Toolkit

This document is designed to be an online tool so that you can pick out the information to suit your community engagement activity. Anything within this document which is underlined in blue is a hyperlink. By following the links, you will be able to navigate directly to the issue being discussed. The contents page is also in this format.
The toolkit will be reviewed annually in May and we welcome views and comments. If you wish to make a comment on the document, please contact the Policy Development Officer.
