Gambling Premises Licence
Craven District Council is responsible for licensing premises for gambling in the Craven District and giving advice.
Gambling is controlled by the Gambling Act 2005.

The Gambling Commission is responsible for issuing operating licences and personal licences, as well as for the regulation of remote gambling including gambling via the internet, phone, TV, computer etc. More information on these licences can be found on the Gambling Commission Website
We are responsible for licensing premises for gambling in the Craven District and giving advice.
Before a licence is issued, we will follow guidance provided by the Gambling Commission, our
Gambling Act 2005 [552kb] and the three licensing objectives:

Small Societies wishing to promote lotteries e.g. raffles, tombolas and prize draws must register with Craven District Council as a small society lottery.
Allows betting on a track on eight days or less in a calendar year, without the need for a premises licence.
Information about the number and category of gaming machines allowed on premises providing gambling facilities.
