Adverse weather affects recycling and waste collections.

Release Date: 13/01/2010 00:00:00

Council update on missed waste collections due to weather.
Today's (Wednesday 13 January) exceptionally icy conditions have meant that all recycling and waste collections have had to be suspended. It's just too dangerous for the bin wagons to make collections off the main roads.
If you are due a waste collection today please leave your bin out. The likelihood is that your waste will be collected tomorrow (weather permitting). Craven District Council has a policy of picking up missed collections due to adverse weather as soon as possible rather than leaving them until your normal collection day the following week.
This means that those waste and recycling collections that should have been collected today (Wednesday) will, weather permitting, be picked up tomorrow; Thursday's collections will be picked up on Friday and Friday's will be collected on Saturday so please leave your bins out accordingly.
All brown bin collections have been suspended until further notice.
