Circular Walks

We have some of the best walks in the Yorkshire Dales, easily accessed from town and villages. Arrive by bus, train or car and within minutes you can be enjoying walking along some of the many footpaths and bridleways in Craven.

Ascent/descent: strenuous climb at the start.    
Accessibility: the steep climb out of Buckden is rough and rocky in places. The riverside path can get muddy in places.

7.25km (4.5 miles).    Time: a minimum of 2 hours
Accessibility: a very challenging walk with a steep climb to begin and a rocky descent into Starbotton. The valley bottom path back to Kettlewell can get wet and muddy.

Accessibility
: a moderate walk with a significant climb up into Grass Wood. The riverside path can get wet muddy underfoot. The path through Grass Wood is rough and rocky in places.

Accessibility: the valley bottom path can be boggy when wet. Some sections are rough with rocky outcrops and tree roots. The limestone pavement at Malham Cove should be crossed with care.

Accessibility: there are a number of stiles to cross on this moderate walk. The footpath through the wood can be slippy and there is a steep climb.

Accessibility: A half day walk on the southern fringe of the Yorkshire Dales National Park near Skipton. The route includes a gradual ascent of Flasby Fell before return across its southern slopes.
