Extra Care Housing: Lower Greenfoot, Settle

24/04/12 - All the legal contracts and agreements are now finalised and signed and the Lower Greenfoot site has been transferred into the ownership of Housing 21.

On Tuesday 17th April, the partners held a meeting to formally launch this project. The meeting was attended by key organisations such as Housing 21, Bramall Construction, the

architect, North Yorkshire County Council, Craven District Council, Age UK and the Alzheimer's Society.

During the next few weeks, the architect and the construction team will finalise the details of the construction process and undertake work to prepare the site for the development

process.

One of the first jobs will be to carry out the necessary works to the drainage and sewerage system, this will be followed by the demolition of the existing building and the

preparation of the foundations for the new building. Work will start in July and take approximately 20 weeks.  Construction of the main building will follow with completion planned for October 2013.

Housing 21 will now take over the process of keeping everyone informed of progress and provide information about the scheme.  We now look forward to the development of this excellent facility that will bring so many benefits to older people in Settle.
