Community Planning Workshop July 2012

31/05/12 - Do you have a good idea that will benefit your community? If the answer to the above questions is yes, come along to a free training event.

The event is organised by Craven District Council and Rural Action Yorkshire.

No matter how big or small your project, you can find out what support is available locally to help make your ideas a reality. This could be anything from setting up your own community shop, pub or café, starting a litter picking group to keep your area litter free or starting a cooperative to bring down your energy bills.

Craven District Council and Rural Action Yorkshire are running local workshops about community-led planning. Topics covered include; how to create a plan for your community, advice about applying for the Craven District Council Localism Fund and other support available to get your project off the ground. We will also have examples of successful local community projects and signpost resources available from national organisations such as the Big Lottery and the Plunkett Foundation.

Training events are taking place at:

• 6pm - 8pm - 23rd July 2012 - Council Offices, 1Belle Vue Square, Skipton.

• 6pm - 8pm - 24th July 2012 - Devonshire Institute, Grassington.
