Chairmans Good Causes

28/08/2012 Good Causes benefit from Craven Chairman's Fund-Raising

Quinn Yorkshire Air Ambulance The last Chairman of Craven District Council, Councillor Andy Quinn, has raised £3,256 for his Good Causes. At the start of his year of office, Andy Quinn nominated two Good Causes for 2011/12. They were Yorkshire Air Ambulance and The Reg Vaux Snowdrop Appeal (research into Mesothelioma).

The money has been raised through a raffle and auction of donated goods, and sponsorship by Craven Swimming Pool customers who swam a collective total of 190 miles.

The Swimmers started the fundraising challenge in January 2012. The Swimming Pool customers who took part used the Pool regular swimming programme. They demonstrated a great commitment to helping Good Causes through their participation. The Swimming Pool fund raising will be held again from January to March next year.

Former Chairman of the Council, Andy Quinn, said :-

"I would like to thank everyone who supported my nominated Good Causes. I am really pleased at the amount raised, bearing in mind that the country is going through such difficult economic times.

My gratitude goes to those who donated goods and services for the raffle and auction, as well as those who purchased tickets and made bids.

Each year the swimmers at Craven Swimming Pool continue to raise money for the Chairman's Good Causes. Some of them have been raising money in this way for many years.

Thank you everyone."
