05/09/2012: Planning Permission refused for 3 wind turbines at Brightenber Hill, Gargrave.

A proposal for 3 wind turbines, each with a maximum height to the blade tip of 100 metres, has been refused planning permission by Craven District Council's Planning Committee.

The decision was taken at a Special Meeting of the Planning Committee on the 3 September 2012.  Committee Members voted to refuse the application as the development would have a highly adverse impact on the occupiers of a neighbouring farmstead.

The meeting took place at Gargrave Village Hall to help make it easier for those interested in the application to attend.  This was a success as the Hall was filled to capacity with valuable and relevant contributions made by both supporters and objectors to the scheme.

The applicant, EnergieKontor, has 6 months to decide whether to make an appeal against the decision to refuse planning permission.  If an appeal is made it would be heard by central government appointed official from the Planning Inspectorate.'
