20/01/2014 - Aireville Park Skatepark consultation event

Do you use the skatepark? Please come to our consultation event on 5th February and tell us what you think about the new skatepark designs and how they could be made better.

Craven District Council wants to know what users of the Aireville Park Skate park think about the new skate park designs. The Council will be holding a public meeting at 6pm on Wednesday 5 February at the Council Offices, 1 Belle Vue Square, Skipton, BD23 1FJ.

The Council has received three design proposals ranging in cost from £50,000 to £100,000. Your opinions will be central to their evaluation in deciding which design is best. After a decision has been taken the winning design can still be slightly amended and another event will be arranged to finalise the design.

Councillor Turner said, "It is important that the Council listens carefully to the advice of those who use the skate park so that we build a new one that provides the best facilities for now and the future".

Renewal of the skate park is a major priority for the Council & its partner 'Friends of Aireville Park' as one element of its planned refurbishment. Together with users of the Park they are working to secure funding for a phased redevelopment.
