On Saturday 5th July, theTour de France Grand Depart Yorkshire 2014 will blast off at 12.00 noon in Leeds. The riders will enter Craven District via Draughton at about 12:40. Once they have passed Skipton (12:47), they will continue on to Rylstone (12:59), Cracoe (13:01), Kilnsey (13:13), Kettlewell (13:20), Starbotton (13:25), Buckden (13:28) and Cray (13:32).

On Sunday 6th July, the riders will enter Craven District around 12:30 after having climbed the 'Cote de Blubberhouses', which is also a fourth category climb. They will then descend towards Bolton Bridge and turn towards Addingham.

On both days, the promotion caravan vehicles will pass through about two hours ahead of the cycling race. Cllr Simon Myers, Lead Member for the Tour de France in Craven said: "Although precise timings for the road closures can't yet be given we have already started planning for the disruption that will occur. We're holding a number of workshops for businesses to help them think about business continuity planning including the one at Skipton Town Hall with Skipton Chamber of Trade and Skipton Town Council next week. Having one of the biggest sporting events in the world come through Craven is an exciting and fantastic opportunity to showcase the region to the world but we are also mindful of our responsibilities to help everyone affected help plan for the impact the race will have over that weekend.
