11/02/2014 - Charities benefit from Chairman's Challenge

Two local charities have benefitted from money raised by participants in the Chairman's Swim Challenge 2013. The Chairman's Swim Challenge 2014 in aid of Airedale Hospital's A&E department is currently taking place at Craven Swimming Pool.

Last Tuesday, Councillor and former Chairman of Craven District Councillor Chris Harbron met with representatives of Parkinson's UK and the Stroke Ward of Airedale General Hospital to hand them a cheque of £475 each.

The money was raised by participants in the Chairman's Swim Challenge 2013. Councillor Harbron says: "I would like to thank last year's participants for taking on the challenge in support of these causesthat are very close to my heart."
