Review of polling districts, polling places and polling stations

Craven District Council is inviting residents to share their views on where they cast their vote during elections. The review will also look at the current polling districts.

The consultation asks for views on any aspect of polling districts or polling places currently used. As well as commenting on the suitability of existing polling stations, people are also invited to suggest new ones.

Any registered elector within the Craven District boundary can take part. Comments are also invited from groups, organisations, councillors, and from any person or body with expertise in access for people with any type of disability.

Share your view by email to elections@cravendc.gov.uk or by post to Electoral Services, Craven District Council, 1 Belle Vue Square, Broughton Road, Skipton BD23 1FJ.

The consultation period will end on the 31st July. The Returning Officer will publish her representations on proposed polling districts and polling places by the 8th August and the period for representations on these proposals will end on the 30th September 2014.

Craven District Council's Returning Officer, Annette Moppett said:

"Over the years, there has been little change in where voting takes place in Craven, We are very interested to hear from our residents where improvements can be made and whether we should consider alternative locations to the polling stations used in May. After all, it is the people who use the polling stations who know best."
