Children across Craven are being invited to take part in a competition to design a flag for the Tour de Yorkshire.

Stage One of the exciting race, which is set to feature a number of world-class cyclists, will finish in Settle on Friday, April 29.

Craven District Council is inviting primary schools across the district to help celebrate this unique event.

Children are being asked to design paper hand-waving flags to celebrate the finish in Settle and cheer on the riders.

The winning design will be printed on thousands of flags, which will be distributed among primary schools that have taken part, and along the route.

The winning pupil will receive a £50 voucher and there will be other exciting Tour de Yorkshire prizes for the runners up.

Entry forms have been distributed to all primary schools in Craven, but if you have not received one and would like one for your child, please email comms@cravendc.gov.uk.
