Palace Motion will be playing at Skipton Town Hall on March 24

The new event run by Craven District Council offers an amazing opportunity for Craven's local emerging bands to perform right in the heart of Skipton.

Palace Motion, The Valves, Record St and Adolescents in Black have all been selected to play on the evening of March 24.

A spokesman for Palace Motion, an alternative trio from Clitheroe, said: "We're extremely grateful for this opportunity to play at somewhere as big as Skipton Town Hall. It's such a great way to get you and your band recognised and get a real taste for performing in front of a large crowd."

The Valves said: "We're all very excited to be chosen to play at the Craven Emerging gig. It's a great opportunity for young local musicians like us to play our music and we hope lots of people will come along to listen and support us."

Adolescents in Black said: "Craven Emerging is a great event for bands to play at bigger venues - we are proud to say we have been selected and it's a great opportunity for us to let others hear our music."

Councillor Simon Myers, Craven District Council's lead member for Enterprising Craven, said: "This is a real opportunity for young bands to showcase their talents in front of an audience in a big venue.

"We know there is an extraordinary amount of musical talent within the district and look forward to seeing it on display. This event really could put young musicians on the road to stardom in the future."
