Settle businesses and residents invited to find out more about superfast broadband

Residents and businesses in Settle and Giggleswick are invited to a drop-in event to find out more about how to access superfast broadband.

Superfast North Yorkshire is holding the event on May 17 at the Royal Oak Hotel in Market Place, Settle, from 6pm to 8pm.

Experts from the team will be there to answer questions about the benefits of superfast broadband and how people can connect.

Telephone cabinets around Settle and Giggleswick have been upgraded using fibre optic cabling to provide much improved internet access for connected premises.

Businesses and residents can take advantage of this faster broadband facility by simply contacting an internet service provider and asking to be connected to fibre.

Superfast broadband can provide download speeds of 25mbps up to 80mbps, depending on the distance from the cabinet.

That means no more hanging around waiting for video content to buffer or photos and files to be uploaded and shared.

Anyone having problems upgrading who can't make the drop in session can email for assistance.
