Public Spaces Protection Order Consultation

Craven District Council is currently consulting on the proposal to implement a Public Spaces Protection order (PSPO) for the High Street Car Park in Skipton.

PSPOs were introduced as part of a range of measures in the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, and are intended to stop individuals or groups committing anti-social behaviour in a public place.

A PSPO should deal with a particular nuisance or problem in a particular area that is detrimental to the local community's quality of life, by imposing conditions on the use of that area.

In response to complaints about anti-social behaviour, Craven District Council is consulting on a proposed Public Spaces Protection Order for the High Street car park in Skipton.

We are consulting residents and owners/occupiers of businesses who live or have premises near the car park, and would very much welcome your views as to whether such an Order should be introduced.

The consultation has been sent to local residents and businesses who live or occupy premises in the vicinity, and a copy of the consultation document can be downloaded here. pdf icon PSPO High Street [412kb]

You can either print off and send the completed consultation to the following address: Public Spaces Protection Order Consultation, Craven District Council, Council Offices, 1 Belle Vue Square, Skipton, BD23 1FJ, or complete it on line, save it to your computer, and email it to pspo@cravendc.gov.uk

The consultation has been extended, and the closing date is now September 30th, 2017.
