Recycling, rubbish and waste

Information and advice on our kerbside collection schemes for recycling, garden waste, household refuse collections including how to dispose of bulky items and commercial waste collections.

waste collection

We provide a fortnightly refuse collection for all domestic properties in Craven.  In addition, we also provide kerbside collections of paper and cardboard which is collect on alternate weeks to the refuse collection.  Glass, cans and plastic bottles are collected every 4 weeks and garden waste is collected on a fortnightly basis.  We also provide a number of local recycling bring sites for residents across the district.  These sites accept a wider range of materials including, liquid food and drink cartons (tetra pak type cartons) and textiles.

From April 1, 2017, we are changing the way we collect your recycling, making it easier for you to recycle.

The collection arrangements will be simplified: all your recyclates (paper, cans, plastic, glass and card) will be collected on the same day in the blue bin. This takes away the need for multiple visits and removes the need for blue bags.
