Completion of Work Certificates

A Local Authority 'Completion Certificate' provides peace of mind and helps to make a property more attractive to prospective purchasers.

The certificate gives reassurance that any work completed is completely safe to the best of the Local Authorities knowledge and has been professionally assessed for compliance. Often banks and building societies will request these documents to complete a sale.

After works have been inspected at all the relevant stages, Building Control must be informed of the completion of works within 5 days of the works being completed. It is the applicants responsibility to do this. A final inspection will then be done and if all the works are satisfactory and all relevant commissioning certificates received the Building Control Surveyor will issue a Completion Certificate.

We are not obliged to issue completion certificates for Building Notices.

If no completion certificate was requested at the time of completion a charge will be incurred to re-open the application file.
