Craven's Draft Cultural Strategy

Craven District Council’s new Cultural Strategy is currently in draft form, and we would like to have your feedback on it.

The Draft Cultural Strategy is available to download here: Draft Cultural Strategy

A survey on the strategy is available to complete here: Draft Cultural Strategy Survey

It would be very helpful if you could complete the survey or email or telephone 01756 706408 with your comments.

The vision of the Cultural Strategy is:

‘To be the best rural location to live, work and visit, underpinned by cultural excellence across the District’.

To achieve this vision our objectives are to

  1. Research and define our cultural distinctiveness and its offer to inform future actions
  2. Support people and organisations to develop and grow engagement in a diverse cultural and creative offer
  3. Improve the infrastructure to support our current and future creative economy
  4. Promote and improve our arts, heritage and cultural assets and surroundings.

The Council will continue to rely on partnership working to deliver the strategy, so your comments and feedback are very valuable to us.

We are holding a consultation event in Skipton Town Hall on Friday 9 March from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, which is open to all to attend.
