What ID will I need to vote?

Here is a list of the acceptable forms of ID you will need in order to vote at the local elections on May 2, 2019. Please note this list is subject to change and will be finalised in March 2019.

TO VOTE AT A POLLING STATION** IN THE CRAVEN DISTRICT LOCAL ELECTIONS ON 2 MAY YOU’LL NEED ONE OF THESE:

• Passport

• Ministry of Defence issued identity card

• Photo Driving Licence

• Defence Privilege Card

• Biometric Immigration Document

• Concessionary Travel Photocard

European Economic Area Identity

  Card

Northern Ireland Electoral Identity 

  Card

An Oyster 60+ pass

A PASS scheme card

• A photocard parking permit issued as

  part of the Blue Badge scheme

 

OR TWO OF THESE:

(one of which must show your registered address)

• Poll Card for the election

Record of a decision on bail

• Bank or building society debit or

  credit card

• Marriage certificate or civil partnership

  certificate

• Birth certificate

• Adoption certificate

• Driving licence (non-photo type)

• Firearms certificate

• Cheque book or building society

  Passbook

• Statement of benefits

• National Insurance Number Card or a letter sent by HMRC issuing your National Insurance Number

 

Issued up to 3 months before polling day:

 • Bank or building society statement

 • Credit card statement

 Utility bill

  Issued up to 12 months before polling day:

 • Council Tax bill or statement

 • Mortgage statement

 A P45 or P60

 A student loan statement

NO ID? THEN YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY FOR A CERTIFICATE OF IDENTITY

Completed applications must be presented in person at Electoral Services, 1 Belle Vue Square, Broughton Road, Skipton, BD23 1FJ, or scanned and emailed to elections@cravendc.gov.uk before 5pm on Wednesday 1 May 2019.

**NEW AND EXISTING POSTAL VOTERS WILL NOT BE AFFECTED BY THE VOTER ID PILOT, AND POSTAL VOTING PROCEDURES WILL BE THE SAME AS PREVIOUS YEARS.
