Food Safety
UK law requires registration of premises used for a food business.
Food poisoning is usually caused by eating food contaminated by bacteria, or the toxins which bacteria produce.
Permission for premises to handle, process or manufacture products of animal origin such as meat, dairy, eggs or fish.
Craven District Council aims to ensure that all food produced, handled, distributed, stored and consumed within the district is safe.
We carry out regular checks on all food premises to ensure the public is protected and that high standards are maintained.
If you're running a food business here's what you need to think about.
In a move to help businesses comply with the food safety regulations, we are offering businesses the chance to have an optional Food Hygiene Inspection visit ahead of their unannounced inspection.
We only investigate food safety matters that we consider present a significant public health risk.
