The sensors can be linked to a lifeline (a kind of telephone) that is used to summon help if required.
Telecare services can make a valuable contribution to independence for people living in their own home. In the Craven area, Yorkshire Housing, working in partnership with North Yorkshire County Council social services, accepts referrals on behalf of its own, private tenants and also owner-occupiers.
Yorkshire Housing will assess applicants and the Telecare equipment is installed by their Craven Home Improvement Agency. The client then also benefits from Yorkshire Housing's excellent warden support service and 24 hour monitoring.
Social Housing tenants interested in Telecare should speak initially to their Housing Officer. Otherwise, please contact Yorkshire Housing using the contact details on the right of this page.
