Democratic Services and Scrutiny Manager

We're recruiting for a part-time Democratic Services and Scrutiny Manager, who'll be responsible for the provision of committee and member services Closing date: 16th May 2021

Scale PO2, £35,745 - £37,890 pro rata

Part time, 25 hours per week


Craven District Council is a small but progressive council based in Skipton, North Yorkshire with a focus on providing quality services to the local communities. The Council has made significant progress over the last few years, delivering savings and improving financial stability, whilst still maintaining high quality services.

You'll have excellent knowledge and understanding of how local authorities work, how they make decisions and the issues, legislation and statutory obligations which affect the Service is required. 

You'll be responsible for the operations within the Democratic Services team, ensuring that these are well planned, are sensitive to customer and community requirements, are in line with Council policy and delivered efficiently and effectively.

You'll also have detailed knowledge of the local government democratic processes particularly in relation to the operation of Council, Policy, Overview and Scrutiny and the regulatory committees is an essential requirement of the post.
