Scale 6, £25,927 - £27,514 per annum (pro rata)
The role provides technical support across a range of reactive and proactive functions including food safety, health and safety and environmental protection. Your responsibilities will involve conducting sampling and monitoring as well as investigating a range of service requests ranging from: environmental protection and food safety nuisance complaints across the District and public health matters such as drainage, pest control and filthy and verminous premises.
You will be undertaking a range of functions carried out by the Environmental Health Team and should have experience of conducting inspections and investigations across a range of activities. You must be able to interpret and implement key legislation and work with partner agencies.
You will have 2 years’ experience in Environmental Health or an associated discipline and be an excellent communicator who will be able to negotiate with customers’ often in face-to-face situations and have a tactful and assertive manner. You will also have excellent organisation and time management skills and be able to work effectively either alone or as part of a team.
The role involves travelling throughout the district with equipment, so you will also need a valid UK driving licence and access to a car or suitable mode of transport.
