Renewing your Vehicle Licence
If you intend to renew your licence, you must fully complete an application form and submit the documents to the Council Offices.
Applications can also be made by post. When applying by post, do not send originals of your insurance, log book or the MOT certificate.
All garage testing must be carried out by the approved testing station, Midgley Motors.
When submitting your application send the following:
-
Application
-
V5 Vehicle Registration
-
Certificate of Insurance
-
Last issued MOT Certificate.
You may only apply within 30 days of the expiry date of your licence and no less than 14 days before the expiry of your licence.
For renewals and grant applications allow at least 5 working days between testing and having the new documents issued.
Please note: You must submit your application and fees to CDC Licensing before you have your vehicle tested at Midgley Motors. Garage fees are now now paid directly to the garage. This is reflected in the application fee paid to CDC Licensing.
Once your vehicle has passed testing, please notify the Licensing department.
